Review of Some Nights by J.L. Lora
Saona (beautiful name!) is having a bad day, as in finding her husband cheating on her kind of bad day. So when she meets Jax (yes, like Jax Teller, one of fiction's best characters, EVER!) at the hotel bar she's kinda bitchy to him. It doesn't last, though, the bitchiness, because she's in fact, a sweetheart, and she apologizes sweetly, and Jax notices. Had noticed her since she first walked into the bar where he works his second job. He's surprised, though, when she propositions him, but he's not stupid, and he takes her up on her offer. But what originally started off as just a hot night, soon morphs into much more. But there are people in her life that aren't happy about her new happiness, and conspire to put Jax into his place. Will he listen to those negative voices that say he's not good enough for this beautiful, successful woman? Or will he ignore the naysayers and give into the love that's developed between them?
J.L. Lora has an amazing way with words - Jax and Saona's journey is quite heartfelt and passionate. I loved seeing Saona blossom into happiness with Jax, who is such a great character, the perfect hero for Saona's awesome heroine. This is only the second of J.L. Lora's books that I've read, but I am a huge fan. I can't wait to see where she takes us next!
