Review of Savior by Fiona Cole
When Alexandra (Alex) is so hungry and desperate that she resorts to trying to sell her v-card online, she knows it's a bad idea. But too many nights of no food mean she's got to do something to earn enough money to live. Luckily for her, Erik comes to her rescue. Erik's been rescuing women for years now, ever since he failed to rescue his sister, but innocent, naive Alexandra is the first one who's made him react, made him feel like this. Will he get his head out of his stupid ass and admit those feelings, or continue to act like a total dick and hurt Alex in an effort to contain his feelings?
I liked Savior in the very beginning, and once Erik and Alex became a couple. But in the middle, while he was behaving like a twatwaffle, I have to say I wasn't very happy with him or the story. I felt like at 30+ he should have been mature enough to handle his feelings better than to force poor Alex to witness and hear him be with other women, all in an attempt to push her away and deny his feelings for her. I honestly felt like DNF'ing at the point when he started doing that, because it was horrifying to read of him hurting her like that. But, I am glad that I pushed through because once they got together, he was a sweetheart - loving, protective and very alpha. I just wish he had behaved more like the adult that he supposedly was. Aside from his lapse into douchecanoe behavior, I thought Savior was engaging reading - sexy, a little suspenseful, and once they got together, Alex and Erik were a great couple!
