MY REVIEW

Kallie and Jacob were each other's best friends and true loves. In him she saw her forever, but at her senior prom, she found out he had been lying to her when he promised his love and his forever. So she fled and hasn't been home since. Until years later when her friend needs some protection, so she brings her home, the last place the danger facing her friend would ever come looking for her. She knows she'll have to face Jacob sooner or later, hoping for later, and she's really not looking forward to it.

Jacob has just been existing for his son since Kallie left him. The love he felt for her never died, but he is so angry at her for leaving without giving him a chance to explain. Now that she's home again, she'll have to face him and he can give her the explanation he wanted to give all those years ago. And maybe, just maybe, a second chance is in store for these two who never got over each other.

I cannot tell you how much I loved Southern Chance!! It's so fraught with emotion, pain and secrets, and I was dying for these two to finally talk and clear the air so they could get back together, because it was obvious from the first page that they belonged together. I may have wanted to smack Jacob for not telling Kallie's family the real reason for what happened, because they most certainly would have let her know, but then again teenagers are not exactly known for their bright decisions, so I gave him a big pass. In the present, he had matured into an amazing man, good thing because his first and only love is equally amazing. Kallie and Jacob are such an amazing couple and I loved every page of their story. Now I'm just waiting, very impatiently, for Kallie's brother, Casey, and her friend Olivia's story, Southern Comfort.
