Review: Rewrite the Stars by Charleigh Rose

Review of Rewrite the Stars by Charleigh Rose

Evan (Evangeline) is just a teen when she meets "Sexy Sebastian" at the local carnival. He's a hot motorcycle-riding daredevil stuntman that she's drawn to for reasons she's not sure she understands or even wants to understand. So she lets him draw her into a little adventure that might or might not be legal, and she's having more fun than she's ever had in her young life. But things end badly with her father in the hospital, and it changes not just her, but her whole family, and things fall apart from there.

Cue to a few years later when she finally graduates high school. Her family has imploded, and Evan wants out. To the carnival she goes. And Seb is still there, but he's not all that happy to see the young woman who thinks he and his brothers robbed her family, the young woman who had them thrown in jail. But Seb is even more drawn to Evan. She's different now, though. There's a layer of hardness to her that wasn't present before. And it intrigues him even more than her unvarnished innocence that was so present in her the times he tangled with her before. Will Evan let Seb in? Will Seb's grandmother, Valeen's (OMG Charleigh named a character after me!!!!) predictions come true? Does the curse Seb is so sure of really exist?

OMG yall, Rewrite the Stars is soooo good! Not only is it really intriguing and suspenseful, but it's unique. I love the carny story line, and I love that it doesn't take the usual path. And of course, being that there's a character named after me, I couldn't help but fall in love with this sexy story. No one does NA and YA quite like Charleigh Rose, and now she's raised the bar for this genre. I love some of her past heroes and heroines, but Seb and Evan are heads and tails above any of her previous characters. They're not only interesting and substantive individually, but as a couple, whew, they're FIRE! Thank you Charleigh for this beautifully intriguing, sexy story. And thanks for naming such an awesome character after me!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
