Review of Bulldozer (Hard To Love Book 3) by P. Dangelico
Single mom, sober alcoholic, Amanda is in for the ride of her life when she and grumpy, nudity-loving Grant, collide at her brother's (Calvin from Wrecking Ball) home in the Hamptons.
Amanda is a hard-working woman who has decided to expand her yoga studio with her best friend, Devya, so staying at her brother's home for the duration of the construction is a godsend. Thank God for her brother. Unfortunately, not realizing his wife had told Amanda she could stay at their house, he invited his teammate Grant to stay there while he recuperates from an injury. No biggie, though, because it's a huge house and 3 people can comfortably stay there, right? Wrong. Wrong because Grant is a grump who refuses to wear clothes and Amanda doesn't want Grant's hard body exposed to her son's young mind. Or perhaps it's just because she knows she can't resist him, even though he's grouchy and scowly and delicious and all those things she should stay far away from.
Grant doesn't have anything in his life but football. It's all he knows, all he loves. Until a sweet woman, her boy Sam and her pitbull Roxy bulldoze their way into their lives. He may seem grumpy and scowly to Amanda, but at heart he's a big softie, or as Cam put it best, "Maybe you caught him at a bad time. He's usually a big teddy bear." Will these two ever get on the same page? Or will Grant allow his demons to keep them apart?
I loved the slow burn of Bulldozer! These two are so deliciously antagonistic for the longest time, but throwing longing looks at each other, each deliciously aware of each other, wanting each other, until they finally couldn't take the tension any longer, and just went for it. And damn, when they finally came together, it was HOT! All kinds of hot. And so sweet. And honestly, I think it's the sweet I loved most about Bulldozer. Grant's sweetness. How utterly clueless a klutzy knight he was to both Amanda and Sam. Just how adorable he was, how unlike the usual womanizing manwhores that litter sports romances, romances in general. And the sweetness of Amanda's single mom just trying her hardest to be the best mom to her adorable little boy and her scary looking, but soft on the inside pitbull. I've really liked this Hard to Love series, but I can honestly say Bulldozer is by far my favorite. Grant and Amanda and their boy and their dog are the sweetest, sexiest couple yet. And I thank P. Dangelico for giving us all their story.
