Review of Until Cobi (Until Him/Her Book 7) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

When Cobi meets Hadley, something inside him growls out that she belongs to him even though he doesn't even know her as anyone other than the woman who followed his cousin to try to prevent her kidnapping. As Hadley lies in the hospital, Cobi takes it upon himself to stay with her, shielding her from the nightmares that are surely to come for her. Then he moves into her life and never leaves, no matter how hard she tries to push him away. He's an alpha caught by that special woman, and nothing on this earth will shake him from her, not even her.

I have read only one other story in this series, Until November, and Until Cobi follows the same formula - alpha, possessive man finds the woman of his dreams and doesn't let her go, no matter how hard she tries (or doesn't) to push him away. The difference between Until Cobi and Until November, is that this one is more successful I believe. I fell in love with Cobi's particular brand of alpha male. He's not ridiculous or ott about his feelings for Hadley. Instead, he's steadfast and even sweet. He knows he's found the one, and he can tell Hadley feels the same, she just has demons she needs to conquer before she will let him in. So he sets about helping her conquer those demons, in a persistent, but not aggressive or obnoxious way, unlike Asher in Until November, who is ridiculously ott and obnoxious in his alpha ways.

About the only thing that kept this from 5 stars is that there were quite a few typos in my copy. I'm going to assume they were corrected before publication, but I can only rate my copy as it is, and the typos were pretty distracting. Aside from the too frequent typos and wrong words, though, I enjoyed Until Cobi. It's steamy, well-written, and both Cobi and Hadley are wonderfully layered, likable characters.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
