Review of Nothing But Trouble (Credence, Colorado Book 1) by Amy Andrews
CC's finally had enough of her manwhore boss' ways. She's just had to let his latest flavor of the week down easily, and she's done. She may have 6 months left on her contract, but she doesn't think she can survive it. And she doesn't need to, as the hefty paycheck (the only reason she stayed as long as she had), has finally allowed her to save up enough to go out on her own and help her dreams come true in California. But when Wade's father has a health scare and Wade determines the only way he'll let her out of her contract early is if she goes with him back to his family's ranch while he a) finishes the book he was paid a huge advance for, and b) gets in some quality family bonding, Wade negotiates her into going with him. And that's where the tide of their relationship turns, EVENTUALLY.
I say eventually because Nothing But Trouble is most definitely a slow burn romance. Thank God CC is smart enough to not have been crushing on her obnoxious, self-absorbed douchenozzle of a manwhore boss, because I would have lost all respect for her if she had. Can you tell I didn't like Wade? Well I didn't, not until the end at least, and even then I didn't love him like I loved CC. CC is the kind of heroine I love most - smart, independent and takes none of her boss' bs. She worked like a dog for the man, being on call literally 24/7 for almost 6 years, and she had never fallen for his crap. That's what I call an awesome heroine. The only reason she even allowed herself to be with him at all is because he finally showed some of the heart he had hidden for the past 6 years. And well, the charm of his small hometown and its residents, got to her - she is only human after all.
But I can safely give this one 4 stars because it's fun, sweet, and CC and Wade's family and hometown friends and neighbors are seriously charming. If Nothing But Trouble is an indicator of the quality of this series, I for one, will be 1-clicking them all as they come out!
