- My beloved piano, and
- the music I create with it.
Until my gaze lands on her.
I don’t know who she is, but the moment I lay eyes on her, a symphony begins to play and the melodies ricochet through my mind.
She’s my inspiration. My muse.
Mine to take. Mine to keep.
Forever.

Damien has lost his music. But when he sees gorgeous Avery, he becomes obsessed with his new muse. So much so that he kidnaps her and imprisons her in his mansion. He has to keep her there so she can keep inspiring him. But, will Avery grow to love what Damien does to her body (and her heart)?
Love Notes was such a surprise to me! Surprise because I didn't see the twist coming and surprise because I ended up falling in love with Damien. Because this was a dark romance, I knew it wouldn't be easy to read, and it wasn't. I didn't think anything good would be coming from Damien, because he started off as such a despicable character. But he definitely grew on me just like he grew up on Avery.
Speaking of Avery, I loved her too. She was just as damaged by her past as Damien was, and that damage called to Damien's damage. Kindred souls and all that. Together, she and Damien were one dysfunctional but perfect for each other, couple.
If you are into dark romance, I highly recommend you pick up your own copy of Love Notes. It's sexy, twisty, and riveting, and it's surprisingly emotionally satisfying.

A lone woman sits beneath a tree with a book on her knees. A light breeze blows her hair around her face, and she tucks it behind her ears only for it to escape again seconds later. When the wind picks up and the pages of her book flutter, she slams it shut in frustration, and across the water, a bass drum crashes inside my head.
I jerk upright. My gaze locks on her, and a violin begins a haunting melody. It’s joined by the warm pitch of a cello, the tweeting of a flute, and a nasally, piercing sound of an oboe. When the woman rises and begins to walk away, drums join the orchestra now playing a concert only I can hear.My eyes never leave her, and the symphony continues to play while she strides away. I jump from my seat and follow her, weaving in and out of people along the path until, at last, I’ve caught up with her. The strength of the chords grows.
Day after day, month after month my world has been silent.
Until now.
Until her.
