Review: His (Ties That Bind #2) by Natasha Knight & A. Zavarelli
His starts off with a bang and the pace never lets up til the end, as Lev takes on his own family to keep Kat and Josh alive and safe. They go through equal parts pain, violence and blood to make it through to the other side. Revelations are dropped, new people come into their lives, and the love between Lev and Kat is tried and tested and only strengthened as each obstacle is overcome.
Ashleigh Zavarelli wrote one of my favorite dark series, The Boston Underworld series a few years ago. It features a mix of Irish and Russian mobsters and has stood the test of time and remains head and tails above anything else I've ever read in the dark romance genre. Collaborating with Natasha Knight has only enhanced Ashleigh's already superb take on Mafia love. It even features a few of the same characters (Alexei and his wife from Ghost) and has now cemented itself on my short favorites shelf. Lev, Kat, Josh, Gleb, Maxim, Pasha, Dima, and the rest of their crew's story is suspenseful, emotionally complex, and gritty. If you haven't read it yet, go out and download it right freakin' now! You'll for sure fall in love with this dark tale of love and betrayal, Vory style.
