Review: Play Fast (Brooklyn Dawn #2) by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott
Since she joined Brooklyn Dawn's tour as their hair and makeup artist, Oz has been avoiding her and she's done with it. So she decides to steal Oz's truck to get him to finally talk to her, and it sets off a chain of reactions that will change their lives in ways they never saw coming. She's tired of Oz ignoring her, and she wants someone to just talk to about the mutual person in their lives - her best friend and his sister, who died in Daisy's arms. But is she prepared for Oz? The rockstar? The man she's always loved as more than just her best friend's brother?
One thing's for sure - Oz isn't prepared for Daisy. He's sworn off love and feelings, but Daisy has always gotten under his skin, and her joining his tour has done more than get under his skin. He's not sure how to handle exactly how he feels about her, what her presence is doing to him, all he knows is he wants her, even if he knows he's not good enough for her.
Is Oz prepared to power through his insecurities and just be with Daisy, or will he allow them to guide his behavior into hurting Daisy again? If only they could get on the same page. About their feelings for each other. About their feelings for the ghost that lies between them. And if only the forces outside of themselves who are trying to take down Lord Lewis and co. would disappear and leave them to find happiness.
I loved this sorta enemies to lovers rockstar romance. Oz and Daisy have such intense chemistry and it manifested in really, really interesting ways. From avoiding each other, to devouring each other, but sometimes hurting each other, I was glued to my Kindle as I was reading their story. I may have wanted to smack Oz a few times and hug the shit out of poor Daisy, but I fell in love with these two and their crazy love story. Now I'm just waiting for Teagan and Cooper's story, Play Mine.
