Review & Release Blast: A Love Song for Liars (Rivals #1) by Piper Lawson

Release Date: April 29
Tyler Adams and I never should have met.

I was rich, he was poor.
I was plain, he was beautiful.
I ached for the spotlight, he made his music in the dark.
Yet he looked at me in a way my rock star father and rich, snobby classmates never did: like I mattered.

I never saw it coming.
When Tyler moved in with us to work with my dad and attend Oakwood Prep, he seduced my enemies and claimed their crown.
He betrayed my friendship and crushed my heart to become their rebel prince.
They can keep him.
I’ll never forgive the boy I used to ache for.
But some nights...
...He makes me want to.

A Love Song for Liars is Book 1 in the angsty, emotional Rivals trilogy.Fans of forbidden new adult, academy and rock star romance will love this new series.

MY REVIEW
Annie and Tyler were once best friends. Now they live in the same house (well, he's in the pool house) and it feels like they should be friends still, but they're not. Until maybe they are...and more? When Tyler's faced with a choice, though - Annie, or his future, which will he choose? Which means more to him? Jax, Annie's father and retired rockstar legend, has his opinion on what matters more to Tyler, and his choice will determine his and Annie's future.

I have to say first that perhaps I am not in the right frame of mind for an angsty, moody and broody YA/NA read right now, because A Love Song for Liars grated on me a tad. But only a tad. When it wasn't grating on me, I enjoyed it. Annie and Tyler have serious chemistry, and I think they have potential to be a great couple once they get out of their own ways, once they grow out of their angsty emo teenage phases, and I'm hoping that in the next installment, A Love Song for Rebels, the two will perhaps be in better places in their lives, be less teenagers and more adults. I have no doubt Annie will make Tyler work his ass off in apology, and I can't wait to read it.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
