Publication date: May 29th 2020

One small town. One hot sheriff. One night of passion. One massive cold shoulder. One murder. One suspect. One chance.
I’m furious when my car breaks down in the small, quiet town of Midsummer, Arkansas. Then I meet the incredibly hot town sheriff and hope that things might be looking up. Unfortunately, that encounter sours fast, leaving me ready to put this town in my rearview mirror. That won’t be easy though, since my car has left me stranded here. Now I’m trapped in a town that has nothing to offer me.

Or does it?

When an opportunity presents itself that could see me staying longer than expected, I begin to notice Midsummer’s charm. I start to wonder if maybe staying won’t be such a bad thing. Even the sheriff is beginning to thaw toward me.

That is until someone commits murder and I become the number one suspect.

Can I convince everyone I’m not the murderer? Or will the real killer walk free?
MY REVIEW
When Conner's car breaks down in the tiny town of Midsummer, it not only gives him the hottest encounter of his life, followed quickly by one serious diss, but it also ends up giving him a new sense of home and a new bestie in the irrepresible Love.

Ooooh I loved Stranded!! The only downside is that now I want more and I have no idea when book 2 will be out. Conner is an absolute sweetheart who deserves all the good things. Rocky? Well, I admit to being a tad miffed at him, still, even though I'm done reading the first installment. But I have to hold onto hope that Jessica will make Rocky redeem himself, and since the second installment is written in his POV, it should be good to see what he thinks, rather than only getting Conner's perspective as Stranded gives us. These two have serious chemistry, and if Rocky can just take his head out of his ass and let himself be happy with Conner, they could have something beautiful. And I will be reading along as they hopefully achieve that happiness!
EXCERPT:
“What was the deal with his father then?”
“Sheriff Stone Green was a tough son of a bitch. I don’t remember him too well, but the times I saw him, I remember being scared of him.”
“Wait, wait!” I gasp, holding my hands and making us stop walking while I stare at her in open amazement. “You’re telling me his father was named Stone?”
“Yeah.”
“And he named his son Rocky?”
Love laughs. “Yep.”
I shake my head in laughter as we begin walking again. “What the hell did Green name his daughter? Pebbles?” I gasp, chuckling hard at my own joke before I find myself tumbling over a boulder. Except, I can’t stop my fall, and when I land, I realize whatever I’ve landed on feels soft.
And squishy.
And it stinks.
“What the hell?” I mumble, using my arms and elbows to shift myself up before I realize just what broke my fall.
Or, more accurately, who.
A freaking body.
A freaking dead body!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
