Gabriel
The first time I saw her, she made my pulse dance to a rhythm that matched the sway of her hips.
The second time I saw her, she was in the arms of my best friend.
That broken, rusty organ in my chest hasn't beaten since.
Blood doesn't run through these veins, it's pure, unleaded determination.
I've fought my whole life. For safety. For Food. For my family.
Five years later, I'm fighting for my position in the MMA world.
No distractions.
Only, my angel needs me, and that tin can behind my ribs found its beat again.
Francesca
Gabriel "No Mercy" Stone earned his fight-name long before he entered the octagon.
He's been a thorn in my side for years.
He takes pleasure in proving his nickname to me at every turn.
He's relentless. He's heartless.
Until one day he's not.
It took the worst day of my life for Gabriel to show me mercy.
Broken and afraid, I let him piece me back together.
He offers me everything yet promises nothing.
When a man shows he has no mercy, you should believe him.

MY REVIEW
When Frankie is left hurt and in the hospital by her boyfriend, his best friend, Gabriel, the man who hates her, is the one to bring her home and care for her. How can this be that Gabriel is being good to her? Tender and caring? He hates her, or at least has acted as if the 5 years she's known him. What Frankie never realized was that Gabriel felt the opposite of hate for her, he just couldn't handle those feelings he had for his friend's woman. So he pushed her away by being an ass. Now that she's no longer Austin's, though, perhaps Gabriel can finally let her know how he really feels about her. Except what she wants, deserves, is something Gabriel's not capable of. And Frankie's done with the men in her life shortshrifting her. Now Gabriel will have to decide if he can be the man she deserves, fight for her the way she deserves.
I liked this emotional, angsty story. Frankie is awesome and I love how she finally stood up for herself and realized what she deserved in her life was not what any of the men in her life were giving her. Gabriel drove me nuts with his "I'm not good enough" bs, but I can understand why he felt that way, so he gets a pass. And at least he finally took that foot out of his ass and did what he should have done way back. This is a great start to what I hope will be a great series. I can really see Rowdy's story being next and if so, I'll be the first to download it.
