Harper's father has been remarried so many times that she has a hard time keeping track of all of her stepmothers. Not that she needs to considering none of them last long. Then she meets the son of her latest stepmother, and though she treats him as if he's disposable, he's really not. He will have far reaching (read, permanent) affects on her and her life. She and her stepbrother may lust after each other, she may even love him, but he will never, ever return her feelings. He's cold, stoic, and can't stand her. Or is that actually true? What about when Harper meets Christopher's business partner, and the attraction is immediate? Can she allow herself to be with Sutton when she has feelings for his best friend and business partner, too?

Damn...this is one angsty af duet. The love and lust between these three is crazy intense. It's sexy, and honestly it was agonizing to read as these three danced around each other and their feelings. And then the ending, yeah I can't say I was all that happy about it. I kinda sorta wasn't on his team. I wanted Skye to end up with the other guy. Well...what I really wanted was for the three of them to end up with each other. Alas, it wasn't meant to be and Skye made her choice. I'm just going to have to be satisfied knowing the other guy gets his own story, which I have on my Kindle already and will now go and devour.
