Review / Release Blitz: Cop-Out (Everyday Heroes World) by Misty Walker

Misty Walker's Cop-Out is a page turning,
emotionally explosive, super sexy, contemporary romance
written in K. Bromberg's Everyday Heroes World project.
She doesn't need a hero.
But she does need me.
Liv
I came to Sunnyville broken, battered, and bloody.
I was saved, rescued by an angel wearing a badge and from that point on, I wanted to be just like him.
Flash forward two years and I finally have my opportunity.
But then Topher Harding asks me out on a date.
He's sexy, he has dimples, and he's a cop.
One date turns into five turns into me thinking this guy might be my forever.
Unfortunately, things don't always go to plan.
This is my life and I refuse to let anyone, or anything stand in my way.
Especially a sexy, dimpled cop who thinks I need a hero.

Topher
From the second the new dispatcher walked into the station, I wanted her.
She's smart, quick thinking, and on a scale of one to ten, her body is a fifteen.
For the first time in my life, I want to stop adding notches to my bedpost and buy a new bed.
One I can share with Liv for the rest of my life.
After everything she has been through, I need to make sure nothing and no one can touch her again.
Then I find out she's been keeping a secret that I can't get over.
So, I let her walk out of my life.
Now she's back with a shiny new badge of her own.
And being the department's Field Training Officer, she's put under my wing.
She still doesn't need a hero.
But she does need me.
And I'll prove it to her.

MY REVIEW
Liv's flame-hot relationship burns out as quickly as it started once Topher finds out her secret. But Liv doesn't let that stand in her way. No, she has a singular dream - become a cop so she can help people as she was helped when she needed it most. So Topher will just have to deal because she's not giving up that dream just because his stubborn stupid big-head alphahole self can't deal with the thought of her in danger. But becoming her Training Officer will only stir the pot of his hostility toward her. Will the two ever be even civil to each other? Are there still dormant feelings beneath the surface just waiting to be fanned?

I liked Cop-Out for one main reason - Liv. I loved how determined and strong she was, even in the face of Topher's aggressive anger. She had a seriously awful childhood and did not let it bring her down or make her give up on her dream. I liked how sweet she is and her character in general. Now Topher? Nope. I could not stand him at all. I love me an alpha, but he's got to have redeeming qualities, and I didn't think Topher had any redeeming qualities. He absolutely refused to see Liv's perspective and he was a dick to her because of it. The ending was rushed, but I do like how they got their happiness finally, after all they went through, or more accurately, everything Topher put them through. I liked Liv enough to make up for hating Topher, and the story was entertaining, and well-written, so 4 stars seems fair.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
