Slade Saxon is the oldest of a family considered royalty in the fighting world. Now retired after winning three championships, he’s following in his dad’s footsteps by running their gym. But stepping away from that career has left a void in his. He’s lost, tired of those who only see his fame and what he can do for them.

Annie Bennett is a small-town girl that traveled to Florida to honor her grandmother’s final wish. When her path collides with that of a handsome stranger, she has no idea how completely things are about to change for her.

Unfortunately, Slade’s past is filled with those he’s defeated in the ring, marring the future they’re starting to look forward to as he gears up for the most important fight of his life.

MY REVIEW
One run-in (literally) and this couple's insta-love was set in stone. Annie's not from around here, and Slade can tell, but he doesn't care. Annie's his angel and he means to keep her.

For what it is, (insta-love with not much else) this is a likable story. I wanted a bit more from it - more steam, and more character and relationship development, but it was generally enjoyable. So why 3 and not 4 stars? There was far, far too much telling, not showing. I felt as if most of it was exposition with the author telling me what happened, rather than allowing the characters to show me.
Meet May Gordon
Warning: Sweet, sexy and safe reads! Happily ever after guaranteed! This author writes what she likes to read. That means there will be instalove, OTT Heroes, and, brace yourselves, virgin characters at times. If none of those float your boat, you might want to find another book. If they do, you're in the right place.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
