BOOK BLURB
Growing up, Jude McCallister was the bane of my existence.

My best friend. Fiercest ally. The most annoying boy in the world.

At eighteen, the boy I loved to hate became the man I couldnโ€™t live without.

We were young. Madly in love. Invincible.

Strong enough to weather any storm.

Cocky enough to believe that no amount of time or distance could destroy us.

When Jude finally returned home from overseas, it should have been cause for celebration. But the man Iโ€™d fallen in love with was gone, and in his place was someone I no longer recognized.

Now, after six long years heโ€™s back. Only my heart ... it doesnโ€™t beat just for him anymore.

MY REVIEW
Once Jude and Lila were best friends, then more, so much more. But when he came back from deployment, he wasn't the same Jude she loved. He suffered from PTSD, he started drinking, and he was so distant, she didn't know what to do. Then he walked away. And a lot has happened in the 6 years since he's been gone. Now he's back, though, and wants his chance at redemption, forgiveness, and time to work his way back into her heart.
The thing is, he's never left her heart. What isn't there anymore is trust. Jude broke every single promise he ever made to her when he ghosted her, and she's just not sure if her heart can take more hurt. Oh and there's the little (HUGE) matter that she isn't just a single package any more. She has someone who is the most important person in her world, in her heart. And this someone is someone she'll protect til her last breath. Jude cannot come in and mess with that. And if he can't accept the circumstances that brought this person into her world, then there's absolutely no chance for them.

Is a second chance in the works for these two? Will Jude get the redemption he so desperately wants?

Wow, this one is a bit of a heartbreaker. I loved parts of it, parts of it not so much. What I loved: Lila - she's strong and sweet and a survivor. Noah - adorable! Brody - he's the best friend we all want, even if he seemed to stand in the way of a second chance for Lila and Jude. What I didn't like so much: Jude - he's got a lot of freaking nerve strolling in after 6 years wanting a second chance, and mad at her for what happened AFTER he left her. He lost his right to her when he left. Period. End of. Really he's the only thing I didn't like. Everything else about this angsty, emotional story is fabulous - it's sexy, the chemistry is hot, and I loved that Lila and her first love finally got their happiness, even if it happened to be Jude she loved. I really like the world Emery has created and can't wait for the next story. I hope it's Brody's because he deserves happiness.

My book boyfriends go with me everywhere. I prefer them tall, dark, and handsome, but I donโ€™t discriminate. Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
