Review / Release Blitz: The Billionaire's Secret (Big Bad Billionaires #2) by L. Steele

The Billionaire's Secret by L. Steele is now live!
"You are MINE..."

Saint Jordan Killian Caldwell
A gazillionaire with a panty melting smirk; and a soul as broken as my own.
I wanted a child.
He wanted a willing wife.
I wanted someone to break me and build me up again...
He wanted no emotions, no connection.
A simple transaction, that's what he said it would be.
I needed something in me to shatter, so I could finally live.
He promised that he was the one... who'd bring me to the edge.
Show me how it could be between a man and a woman...
Just... you know... no sentiments involved.
I thought I was willing to do as he commanded.
After the events of my past, I hoped that I could walk away with one thing that belonged to me: my own flesh and blood, my baby.
That was the deal I had made.
I hadn't expected to develop feelings for the father of my child.
Definitely hadn't meant to fall in love with the man I must betray...

MY REVIEW
Victoria has to take one of The Seven down if she wants to obtain Nina's freedom. Unfortunately for her, the billionaire she chooses, Saint, is not exactly cooperative. Well, he is, but only to his own desires. He's dominant, he's an asshole, and he refuses to open himself up to anyone, especially her. No matter, she doesn't need his heart, only some information, and perhaps a baby, then she'll be set, Nina's freedom will be assured.

First off, I have to say that I did not read the first book in this series, but it does say in the blurb this is a standalone. So I went into it expecting it to be a standalone, and it is, to a degree. But when I started, right away I could tell I needed to have read the first story, because I felt as if I were thrown into this story, and was expected to already know who these characters were and why they were acting the way they were. Well, I had no clue so I felt underwater. It got a little better as I kept reading, but I never felt this was a total standalone. This is partly why 3 rather than 4 stars. The other reason is I never warmed to Saint. Yes I appreciated getting his backstory and it explained his behavior and personality SOMEWHAT, but I never felt he redeemed himself. He stayed a dick for the entire story, his behavior toward Victoria was really unacceptable. He's just damn lucky she had fallen for him and needed information from him or she never would have stayed with his jerk self. The story itself, though, is entertaining, their chemistry is hot, and I liked Victoria. She's strong, likable, and should be the one named Saint for putting up with his asshole ways.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
