He was forty years old.
He was single.
He had his dream job as GM of the Baltimore Breakers hockey franchise, and he was happy.

Lie.

Because the woman he was in love with was married.

To a perfectly nice man who loved her and cared for her and treated her like the queen she was.

But then Lexi showed up at his house, tears in her eyes, Caleb out of the picture, and he finally had a shot.

A real shot.

At love.

The trouble was that Luc had spent almost the entirety of his adult life running from love. He didn’t do relationships, not any longer.

But . . . Lexi was hurt, absolutely devastated, and she needed care and gentleness and deserved all of the romance in the world.

So he needed to man up and find a way to convince her to give him that shot.
MY REVIEW
Luc has been in love with Lexi for as long as he's known her. But she was married, so instead of giving into those feelings, he became her best friend instead. Now she shows up at his house, in desperate need of comfort because her husband has cheated on her. She needs her best friend, not someone in love with her. Right?
God, I could feel Luc's longing for his best friend, and I FELT for him! At the same time, I could feel Lexi's despair, and her awareness of her best friend, and I could feel how they loved each other, were in love with each other. I loved Broken - it's practically filled to the brim with emotions, Luc is absolutely one of the sweetest, strongest heroes I've read in a long while, and the way he and Lexi came together was beautiful. I can already tell how great this new series is going to be with this amazing couple starting things off.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
