Title: Playboy Pitcher
A Cocky Hero Club Novel
Author: Cora Kenborn

Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are excited to bring you the Cocky Hero Club: original works from various authors inspired by Keeland and Ward's New York Times bestselling Cocky Bastard series.

BLURB
The first time I met Benson LaCroix, he sat in a bar wearing “cocky player” like a cheap cologne.
The second time, he stood in a locker room in nothing but a jockstrap and a scowl.
Apparently, the Miami Storm’s star pitcher isn’t too thrilled his new boss is the woman who turned him down.

That makes two of us.

I never asked to inherit my father’s baseball team. It’s the one thing I despised more than him.
I’m just here to sell, sign on the dotted line, and get out.

Until I’m hit with Dad’s final parting gift—a buyer’s clause.

Enter Satan—otherwise known as my ex.
I should swallow my pride and just accept his offer. Instead, I tell him where to shove it.
It can’t be that hard to turn the major league’s biggest joke into a winning team.

Right?

With only four weeks to do the impossible, I’ll need more than a miracle.
I’ll need a secret weapon. Someone ruthless enough to marry me for my money.
Like a playboy pitcher with a wicked curveball.

Two quickie vows and one hostile truce later, and it’s game on.

Ben and I can do this.
I just have to keep my eye on his balls.
I mean the ball. The prize.

Oh hell. We’re in trouble.

Playboy Pitcher is an enemies to lovers/sports romance inspired by Park Avenue Player.

MY REVIEW
Benson (Ben) is not used to women rejecting his smirky, charming flirting. So when a gorgeous woman in a bar turns him down, it throws him off his game. Then to his horror, that same gorgeous woman turns out to be his new boss, the new owner of his baseball team. The new boss who is now in charge of his and his teammates' futures. It's too bad he pissed her off as soon as he opened his mouth during their second meeting. Will he have the chance to make things right?
Willow needs Ben, though, so when she comes to him with a proposition, he isn't one to say no. Now the only problem the two will face is keeping what is fake from becoming real and breaking both their hearts. She's got secrets. He's got his own baggage, so on paper it shouldn't be hard for them to resist each other. If only that were the case though...

Ben and Willow are a snarky, witty, HOT couple and their journey from fake to very, very real was a bit of a rollercoaster. I loved reading as the cocky playboy with a vulnerable side he only showed her was brought to his knees by a quirky, teal haired dynamo who had her own form of vulnerability. This is a very worthy addition to Vi and Penelope's Cocky Hero Club.

AUTHOR BIO
Cora Kenborn is a USA Today Bestselling author who writes in multiple genres from dark and gritty romantic suspense to laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. Known for her sharp banter and shocking blindsides, Cora pushes her characters and readers out of their comfort zones and onto an emotional roller coaster before delivering a twisted happily ever after.

Cora believes there’s nothing better than a feisty heroine who keeps her alpha on his toes, and she draws inspiration from the strong country women who raised her. However, since the domestic Southern Belle gene seems to have skipped a generation, she spends any free time convincing her family that microwaving Hot Pockets counts as cooking dinner.

Oh, and autocorrect thinks she's obsessed with ducks.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
