Blurb
As soon as I saw him, it was war.

I thought at first it would be between me and him.
Cade was cold and hard and didn’t want anything to do with the headmaster’s daughter. I was off-limits.
He didn’t need that kind of trouble.

I didn’t need that kind of trouble, either. And since I did my best to avoid any kind of trouble, that should have been the end of it.

But when I saw him, he also saw me.
All of me.
The lonely parts. The dark parts.
The secret parts.

He became my ally.
I lost the battle with myself and fell in love despite the risk.

But the war isn’t over for either of us.
Not as long as my father is alive.

Book two of three in the final trilogy in the Dirty Universe.

MY REVIEW
Wild War dives right into Cade and Jolie's past and how they came to be estranged in their present. And let me tell you, though the favor she asked of Cade in Wild Rebel may have surprised you, this book explains and justifies that request, and damn...their past is so ugly that I hurt badly for them both.

I said in my review of Wild Rebel that Cade is extremely hard to read, and I'd say that still stands true, but in this installment, his past is detailed and goes a long way to explaining why he is the way he is in the present. It doesn't mean he's an open book now, because he's not by any means, it just means I understand a little now why he's closed off and stoic. I just want to hug him now!

Jolie gave up a lot back then and Cade moved on, but he has not dealt with his past, at all. Now he'll have to deal with it because the cliffhanger makes it very clear that more of the war is coming for him. He's alpha through and through, which of course means he's commanding and tough, and he's going to need those qualities and more to process the revelation in that damn cliffie. Sheesh. This trilogy just keeps drawing me in and I'm very, very impatiently awaiting Wild Heart now.

About the Author
With millions of books sold worldwide, Laurelin Paige is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author. She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however.

When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Killing Eve or Letterkenny, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio.

She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
