BLURB
Cold.

Cruel.

Fearless.

Ed Mescal had been all those things.

None of them fit.

Rebel.

That one did.

To the people who loved him, he’d been a brother. A grandson. A friend.

To Piper Warren, he thought, he’d been much more.

But lies that get buried are old and ugly once they're unearthed, something Ed's enemies are about to discover.

Now he's back, freed from the past and ready to reclaim the life and love stolen from him.

If he can prove that even a rebel deserves a second chance.

MY REVIEW
Eddie's out of prison, imprisoned for something he didn't do, and he knows he has to go home to see his sister and grandparents. He's got a lot of work in front of him to get back in his grandfather's good graces, but his sister has always been there for him. Plus his hometown is the kind of small town that typifies America - gossipy, judgemental, racist (yes, racist unfortunately), and snobby. Then there's the fact that Piper's there. The girl he's always wanted, shouldn't have, probably can't ever have again, and who isn't his biggest fan. Can these two destined-to-be make it work this time?

Piper's not thrilled the man who broke her heart is back in town, and she's certain she's not about to let the man break it again. But there's a connection there that has never died, and it's difficult resisting the pull he has over her. There are even more obstacles in front of them now, though, than even before, so they'll have to stand strong if they want to make anything between them work.

Fearless Rebel is beautiful storytelling. It's hard to read at times, what with the racism, the betrayal, and the narrow-mindedness of their small town, but Eddie and Piper and his family more than make up for any of the more difficult to read aspects. I loved this story, and found the Diné (Navajo) theme interesting, and the connection and chemistry between Piper and Eddie to be the best part of this wonderful installment of the Cocky Hero Club. Plus there's the added cameo by Chance and Aubrey - they made an already A+ story even better!

AUTHOR BIO
Eden Butler is a writer of contemporary, fantasy, and romantic suspense novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate.

This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum. When she's not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden reads, cooks, and spends too much time in her garden perfecting her green thumb while waiting for the next New Orleans Saints Superbowl win.

She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
