Sean's back, and his loves, Charlie and Trevor aren't prepared to do anything but say a final goodbye to him. When he left all those years ago, he devastated them. But now that he's back, they're not about to give them their hearts again, only to have them broken, AGAIN, when he leaves, AGAIN. But when a series of murders needs to be investigated, can the three of them work together? Or is it too much to ask for the former lovers to be in such close proximity to each other and not give into the feelings that have never gone away?

Sean didn't leave Trevor and Charlie on a whim back then. He's been holding a secret inside, a secret that caused him to leave, one that can never get out or it will ruin more than just his life that was already ruined when he had to leave. Working with his only loves will make it that much harder to keep the secret, and make it nearly impossible for him to say goodbye again when he leaves. But is it possible for the three to have a second chance, even if his secret comes out?

What We May Be is the kind of second chance I love best - where not only do all of the leads deserve a second chance, but they work hard for that second chance. Not only that, but this is also the best kind of menage, where the emotional and the physical are balanced perfectly. Yes, it's searingly hot, but the emotional connection between the three is just as strong, just as intense, and it's shared equally among the three. The added bonus of a great mystery, a bit of action and suspense, and what I got is the very best kind of second chance, the very best kind of menage, and the very best kind of romantic suspense. I loved it, I loved Charlie, Trevor, and Sean, and I can only wish there were more coming about them.
