What made a good girlfriend?
Someone who was understanding. Kind. Someone who listened and baked cute, little cupcakes and remembered things like anniversaries and their boyfriends’ favorite meals.
In a word, someone who wasn’t Tammy.
She wasn’t good with mush, couldn’t stand watching a romantic movie without wanting to hurl. She didn’t have songs with her significant others. Hell, she didn’t have significant others.
Then . . . Fletcher.
He was just a co-worker who needed a fake girlfriend to take to a wedding, one who wouldn’t get attached like all the other women who fell in love with him at the drop of a hat and then required him to do outlandish things like solicit fake girlfriends.
In another word, he needed Tammy and her cold, dead heart.
So she did him a solid, went to the wedding, and charmed everyone while staying blissfully unattached.
But then Fletcher fell for her.

MY REVIEW
Fletcher needs a date for a wedding. Who better to ask than Tammy, the woman he knows for certain will absolutely not get the wrong idea, will do him a solid because she's not about to ever have real feelings for him. She's the one who doesn't do feelings or commitment, so she's perfect for a fake date. But what happens if HE does the unthinkable, and falls for a woman who doesn't do love? Well, if you're Fletcher, you do you and you set out to patiently show her she can trust him with her heart, the way he already trusts her.
Whew, Fletcher had his work cut out for him, convincing Tammy, who very understandably had serious issues with relationships and commitment. I love the way he patiently, determinedly, and sweetly wooed her. But what I loved most was how Tammy let go of her reservations, became vulnerable to someone, grew so much in a relatively short amount of time, all because of the love of a great man. But, she was so definitely an equal partner to him, and she shined here in hers and Fletcher's story. Two people with baggage learned to trust each other, and fell in love. What more could a reader ask for in a great love story?
