Alex has taken Kate away to Russia, away from the danger she's (thanks to him) facing in the US. He's not given her a choice, and she's chafing under his taking away her will, her consent. She's still in over head with this man, this man she has chemistry with, but isn't very happy with right now. It will be up to Alex to not only protect her from his world, the danger his unethical (to put it nicely) world has brought to her, but to prove to her that he loves her, and that she can trust him. That's a tall order, though, and it will take all his considerable resources to prove these things to her.


As Kate is drawn further into Alex's world, she's starting to see the real man underneath the layer of danger he wears. She knows she's falling harder every day, but can she truly trust him with not only her life, but her heart as well?


As I said in my review of White Nights, Kate didn't stand a chance at resisting Alex. He was too commanding, too powerful, and here in their conclusion, too willing to show her his heart. I love how she made him work for her love, though, and how he allowed himself to show her his feelings. As Kate and Alex fell further into each other, I fell even harder for them and their story. I loved this conclusion to the White Nights Duet. It's suspenseful, it's intense, sizzling hot, and now I'm wishing Charmaine and Anna plan on writing much more co-authored stories together.
