Review / Release Blitz: Always Someone's Monster (Battle Crows MC #1) by Lani Lynn Vale

Always Someone’s Monster
Battle Crows MC, Book 1
Lani Lynn Vale
Release Date: January 25, 2022

About the Book
A few years ago, when his sister went missing, Haggard Crow turned into something he never wanted to be. A killer.

Even after his sister is rescued a year after she was kidnapped and sold, Haggard ‘Thief’ Crow doesn’t have any plans on changing. He sort of likes the zero fucks given guy that he is now.
Bonus points, he saves women and children from extreme situations, along with his club and real life brothers by his side.

After a horrible marriage, Haggard has zero plans of ever finding a woman again. One-night stands not counting, he adores his life as a single man. There are no expectations. No ‘where are yous’ and ‘are you coming homes.’

The life he chooses to live is a simple one. Until he makes a huge mistake, and he steps over that line between ‘daughter’s best friend’ and ‘a woman he desperately wants.’

Before long, he can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop wanting her. Can’t stop feeling things for her that a man twenty years her senior should never feel for a girl he watched grow up.
After one lapse in judgment, he decides she needs to go. But the funny thing is, he never expected Sophia Madden to fight back. And dirty at that.

MY REVIEW

Sophia has a little secret - she has a huge crush on her bestie's dad. Yes, Haggard is old enough to be her father, is in fact, her father's best friend, but he's also a hot silver fox and she can't help but be drawn to him. She's never told her friend she has these feelings, and she doesn't plan on it. She also doesn't plan on acting on them because Haggard doesn't see her as anyone but his daughter's friend and his friend's daughter. Then an incident changes everything for them. Now Haggard's looking at her in a whole new way (as far as she knows). Will he be able to keep his girl safe? Will his own best friend kill him for looking at his daughter in a way he shouldn't?

Haggard never planned on acting on his forbidden attraction to his best friend's daughter, his daughter's best friend. Of course not. She's forbidden for a reason, off-limits for a reason. But now that something's happened to put her under his protection, he can't help but stake his claim to this sweet, sassy woman who's had him all tied up in knots all without knowing it. He hopes his best friend can understand, because he's sure as hell not letting Sophia go now...

OK, I gotta warn you before I go further in this review - you will need a big box of Kleenex for this one! Sophia and Haggard's story will tear your heart out, but will also put it back together by the time you're done reading, so just be prepared for the roller coaster now. I loved them, loved every single word of their forbidden, age gap love. Sophia is an absolute hoot - sweet, sassy, quirky and loving, who doesn't quit once she decides she's going to be with her man. Haggard is the very best kind of alpha - commanding, demanding, bossy af, and so hot Sophia didn't stand a chance. The best kind of man and Sophia and Haggard were lucky they found each other. I'm fascinated by this new world now, and am seriously impatient for Irish and Shine's story, Make Me Your Villain!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
