BLURB
Fresh off a plane from France, I was ready for a little reprieve.
After a wild night and a few too many drinks, I ended up in a hotel room with a complete stranger.

I didn’t think I’d ever see him again—boy, was I wrong.
Two days later, he walks into my dad’s office.

He was looking for the man in charge.
Instead, he found me—the boss’s daughter.
A few sly remarks about my family had me all too skeptical about revealing my identity.

It’s a good thing I held back,
because it seems he’s got an opinion about the Big Wig’s daughter, too.

Stuck-up.
High-strung.
Demanding.

So, I let him believe I was an employee, too.
A measly assistant with the curiosity of a cat.
At least, that’s what he thought.

Now I can find out why he’s painted this dark picture of my family.
And it’s time to show him that I’m more than a name in the rumor mill.

That’s all assuming I’m not exposed first.

Ruthless Rookie is a workplace romance inspired by Mister Moneybags.

MY REVIEW

Mira's back with something to prove to her dad. She wants to prove she can guide their company to new places to take the burden off him. She's mired the family and the company in scandal in the past, but she's moved beyond that part of her life and wants to be better, do better. Then she has an intense night with a stranger that she never expects to see again. Guess who walks into her family's offices as an employee? Yep, her hot stranger. Only he isn't a stranger any longer, and now in her world. Will she tell him the truth of who she is? Will he unburden himself of his grief for his own loss?

Sawyer has his own demons. He's never gotten over his guilt or his loss, and it's made him cut ties with his family. Will he allow himself to be happy with Mira, even after he finds out her secret?

This is sweet, short and hot. I liked Mira and Sawyer, and found their chemistry hot, even for such a short story. I did find the ending to be very rushed, so I had to knock off a star unfortunately, but for the most part I enjoyed this story and found it to be a good addition to the Cocky Hero Club.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
