Review / Blog Tour: The Final Play (Summerville Sports #3) by Amie Knight

The Final Play isn’t always the end.
Sometimes, it’s the beginning of something far more beautiful.

The Final Play, an all-new enemies-to-lovers sports romance from Amie Knight, is available now!

As a professional linebacker, I lived and breathed football.
The only thing I loved as much as the game was my twin brother, Max, who kept me almost as busy cleaning up his messes.
The most recent of which landed him behind bars.

So, it shouldn’t have surprised me when a beautiful woman showed up on my doorstep, claiming to be pregnant with Max’s baby.

Glory was unexpected, infuriating, and flat-out crazy most of the time.
But no matter how hard I tried to deny it, that tiny spitfire slammed into my boring life with the strength of a Category 5 hurricane, blowing through my defenses until she’d carved her name in my heart—permanently.

I feared we would never work. She was a single mom, my brother’s ex, and one more chance for me to fail yet another person I loved.

But if football was my church, then Glory was my heaven.

Excerpt
He was the best man I’d ever known and I couldn’t have him. I probably didn’t deserve him, anyway.

Tears flooded my eyes and I paid the cashier as fast as possible before practically running behind the buggy to get to my car. I loaded the groceries, tears trailing my cheeks.

I didn’t even bother to wipe them away. This whole situation was sad. It deserved my tears. Every damn one of them. Because Mason and Glory could never be.

It would be weird and wrong. What the hell would we even tell people? How would we explain? And how would Max feel? I had a feeling it wasn’t good at all.

I climbed into the front seat of my car and held on to my steering wheel for dear life. And sobbed. And then when I was done sobbing , I beat the shit out of that steering wheel and then the dashboard.

Because life wasn’t fair. It just fucking wasn’t and again and again it just kept throwing me punch after punch. How long was I supposed to still stay standing?

I felt like this might be the final punch and it was a knockout. Because I had a feeling that Mason Stark was my person. And I couldn’t even have him.

MY REVIEW

Mason's really not that surprised when a woman turns up on his doorstep looking for his twin brother, Max. He's especially not surprised she's pregnant. After all, Mason's been cleaning up after Max for literally years now. The big problem? He can't help but to take the woman into his home, into his life. She's pregnant with his family, and he's not ever one to let someone down without helping them when they need it. But what can he do with his feelings when they morph into something he's not expecting, something he's decidedly not allowed to feel for his brother's very pregnant ex?

Glory was most definitely not expecting for her baby daddy's twin to take her in. But she was expecting even less to not only be attracted to him, but to start developing feelings for him. She's falling harder with every day that passes, and she should know better. Can she trust her heart to someone she's not supposed to be with?

I loved Mason and Glory and their circle of friends and the family Mason made with his friends and teammates. Mason has a heartbreaking backstory and it made him into the strong caregiver he is, the strong caring instincts Glory ignited just by showing up. She too had a rough past, and it made her equally strong. They have serious chemistry, and damn is that man's mouth down and dirty!! I loved them together and loved reading as they made their own little family together.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
