Review / Release Blitz: The Mastermind (Rivers Wilde #3.7) by Dylan Allen

He’s the man of her dreams.
But their love has an expiration date.

The Mastermind, a swoon-worthy standalone novella set in the Rivers Wilde World from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Dylan Allen and 1,001 Dark Nights is now available!

He lives under a golden spotlight.
I’m shackled to a past that must stay hidden.

Omar Solomon is the king of the comeback.
Ten years ago his career as a star athlete ended in injury and scandal.
He may have traded in his cleats for Gucci loafers, but he’s been as victorious in the boardroom as he was on the pitch.

He returns to London, wealthy, influential, and powerful beyond measure.
And he spends every weekend in the pub where I work.
A law student with a night job and a dark past,
I’m hardly the type of woman a man like him would notice.

Or so I thought.

When he offers me a no-strings-attached affair,
I forget all the reasons I should say no.
He’s straight out of my dreams—
with a body and a mouth made for sinning.

Our passion turns my gray existence into a vibrant, colorful life.
But it has an expiration date.

When his time in London is over, we will be, too.
And it will be for the best.
Because he can never find out who I really am.

But my Mastermind has set his sights on a new goal: me.
And this time he’s playing for keeps.

**Every 1,001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

MY REVIEW

Jules has baggage. Omar has baggage. Why not bear their baggage together? When Omar suggests a no-strings thing to her, she can't resist, even though she really should know better, know her heart will end up broken because Omar isn't one she'll want to let get away, even if she has to.

The first time Omar saw Jules, he was fascinated. He never got up the nerve to approach her despite wanting her like he'd never wanted before. But these two can't have permanence. Not when he's only in London temporarily. Not when Jules is hiding a past that he'll be repelled by. So why do they find themselves wanting exactly what they can't have - forever?

I LOVE the Rivers Wilde world, so when I heard Dylan was writing an addition to it, I stood up and cheered. And now that I've gotten to read it, I love Rivers Wilde even more. Jules and Omar are, quite simply, fire! Their chemistry is as hot as you can imagine, and there's a touch of suspense and mystery to their story that made for even more fascinating reading. If you haven't delved into this sexy, intriguing world, The Mastermind is a great starting point. If you are already in love with this world as much as I am, you'll love The Mastermind because it gives you another amazing couple and their part of this world.

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
