Review / Release Blitz: Flawless (Chestnut Springs #1) by Elsie Silver

She says this means nothing.
I say this means everything.

Flawless, an all-new swoon-worthy small-town enemies-to-lovers standalone romance from international bestselling author Elsie Silver, is live now!

The rules were simple. Keep my hands off his daughter and stay out of trouble. But now I’m stuck with her. There’s only one bed. And well, rules are made to be broken.

I’m the face of professional bull riding—the golden boy. Or at least I was, until it all blew up in my face. Now my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I’m stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my “full-time supervision.”

But I don’t need a goddamn babysitter, especially one with skin-tight jeans, a sexy smirk, and a mouth she can’t stop running.

A mouth I can’t stop thinking about.

Because Summer isn’t just another conquest. She sees the man behind the mask, and she doesn’t run—she pulls me closer, even when she shouldn’t.

She says this means nothing.

I say this means everything.

She says there are boundaries we shouldn’t cross. That my reputation can’t take any more hits—and neither can her damaged heart.

I say I’m going to steal it anyway.

MY REVIEW

One screwup and now Rhett's agent has assigned him a babysitter. Him, a grown man, a bull rider, now has a babysitter. And that babysitter is an uptight princess who happens to be his agent's adult daughter, Summer. He may think he doesn't want or need a babysitter, but when Summer's in close proximity all day every day, something happens to him, between them. Is she the elusive thing he's been searching for all these years?

"I don't know when it will be enough. All I know is that I still feel incomplete somehow. Like I'm not done yet—like I'm still looking for something."

This time with Rhett has lead Summer to a few truths. One, Rhett is not the man she pre-judged him to be. No, he's so much more - a gentleman in the rough with a beautiful heart. Two, she's not really in love with her job working for her father's legacy. She's not sure what to do about either of these two things, but she'll need to figure it out, especially when Rhett seems to be dead set on getting her to understand him. Will she let him past her walls?

"It's the best kiss of my life. It's the best moment of my life. Because I found the piece that was missing."

When I found out Elsie was starting a new series, I was ecstatic after having read and fallen in love with her Gold Rush Ranch series. Well, I'm happy to let you know that if Flawless is any indication, this new world she's created is going to be equal to or better. Rhett is one of those characters that appears to be one thing, one way, and yet is a very different being underneath his outer layer. He was such a sweet soul with a damaged heart, just searching for someone to put him first, to be truly there for him. Summer, oh God, she was amazing. All the people save for one, in her world that were supposed to love her were horrible, and she suffered for it. But she was strong and loving no matter what, and so deserving of the swoony guy Rhett was. I loved Flawless and fell absolutely in love with Summer, Rhett and their world. I can't wait for more now.

About Elsie
Elsie Silver is a Canadian author of sassy, sexy, small town romance who loves a good book boyfriend and the strong heroines who bring them to their knees. She lives just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband, son, and three dogs and has been voraciously reading romance books since before she was probably supposed to.

She loves cooking and trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with her boys–especially outdoors. Elsie has also become a big fan of her quiet five am mornings, which is when most of her writing happens. It’s during this time that she can sip a cup of hot coffee and dream up a fictional world full of romantic stories to share with her readers.

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
