Rule number 1: Never fall for the enemy.
Rule number 2: Never get involved with a local.
Luna Copeland lives by those rules, which complicates things tremendously when her new boss turns out to be a former one-night stand. As if that isn’t bad enough, he’s also a world-class jerk. But she just can’t make herself stop thinking about their one night together.
When Nate Warren left Whitecap years ago, he was certain he wouldn’t come back. But when his daughter starts acting up and getting into trouble, the small coastal town proves to be the best place for her. With an unruly teen on his hands, the last thing he has time for is romance. Unfortunately, he can’t get his sassy assistant out of his head.
When ignoring their attraction fails, Nate decides he wants all in. He just has to convince Luna she wants the same.

Luna's rules are in place for a reason. She doesn't need or want some grumpy jerk boss coming around and making her want to break those rules. But's that's what Nate's doing, and she's not sure she can withstand the things he and his angry but lovable daughter are making her want. Things like the warmth and comfort commitment and a real relationship bring. Luna will have to take a leap and trust that Nate will take gentle care of her wary heart.
Nate came back because he wanted what was best for his daughter. But there's a certain assistant of his that's messing with his head. She's bonding with his daughter and making him think of forever. How can he get his prickly Luna on the same page? Get her to see that loving him and his daughter means happiness, not the pain her mother's treatment makes her think love means?
Whew, Luna and Nate were a rollercoaster! Lots of heat, but even better, lots of heart. Nate was angry but so was his daughter. Put them with sassy, independent Luna whose walls were stronger than Fort Knox, and what the combination meant was another great Whitecap love story. I can't wait for the next couple in this excellent series.
Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
