MY REVIEW
Tristan's just now getting out of prison after having served 4 years. He needs a place to stay, and his sister's the only one who's stood by him, still keeps in contact with him. So taking her up on her offer to live with her and her roommate is his only option. Too bad his sister's roommate, Isabel, can't stand him. All he wants to do is start over but how can he when there are still so many untruths clinging to him? When the people in this town won't let him just be?
Isabel has complicated feelings for her new roommate, but in her heart of hearts, she still has a soft spot for her friend's brother, the guy she had a huge crush on once upon a time. Now that he's living with them, she will have to decide if she can let him in truly, see past the lies and secrets that surround Tristan. Then and only then, will they have a chance at happiness.
Tissues. Grab a box of them before starting on this story - you'll need them. Pain, heartbreak, secrets and lies all tangled up with two people trying to see their way to happiness. Tristan is at heart a beautiful person, prone to making a martyr of himself for the people he loves. Isabel is strong with an equally big heart, one of the few who truly saw Tristan, saw beyond his bad boy façade and into his wonderful inner being. I loved their story even though I cried buckets of tears as Tristan tried to find himself and Isabel tried to get him to see himself the way she saw him.
