Review / Release Blitz: Heart of Stone (Camp Bexley #3) by K.K. Allen

Release Date: September 27

Benson Bexley has a heart of stone.
Apparently, nothing changes.

When he returns home after a decade gone, I recognize him right away.
How could I forget him?
He’s the same cocky flirt who slid dirty poetry to me in art class.
With the same stone-cold stare that shields his soul from the world.
And that same sharp-edged jaw that cuts straight through a heart like a dagger.

Fortunately, I see right through his arrogant charm.
Even better, he doesn’t remember who I am.
And I have no intention of reminding him.
After all, it’s only a matter of time until his nomadic life takes him away again.

When he relentlessly pursues me, I devise an evil plan.
Play along with his dirty, poetic charm.
And then give him a taste of his own medicine.

Revenge.
It’s not in my nature.
But Benson Bexley deserves nothing less.
It’s time for that heart of stone to shatter.

MY REVIEW

Benson may not recognize the beautiful art teacher, but she sure as hell recognizes him, the jerk with a hardened heart who broke her heart years ago. A little plan of revenge just might be hatched, but it may or may not fall to the wayside when the feelings she's always had for him have her forgetting that she doesn't exactly like him.

Benson's home now that his little brother's been in an accident. He's spent years running from his pain over his brother's death. He feels guilt, he feels grief, every ounce of loss, but instead of dealing with those feelings, he's erected walls around his heart. It was this very thing that's caused him to hurt, the beautiful art instructor he's got his sights set on. He doesn't recognize her from his past, but he wants her. When he finds out their past connection, will he ever forgive her for her deception?

The Bexley family just got better with Benson's story. He is so damaged, causing him to be a wanderer, a nomad, trying to outrun his pain. He didn't realize how much his pain made him hurt the beautiful girl, now all woman, from his past, but when he runs into her in his present, his heart certainly is on board with him sticking around, even if it's supposed to be just temporary. I love how Brooklyn is so strong, determined not to let him hurt her again but she simply can't resist him anymore than he can resist her. I loved their second chance at love.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
