Review / Release Blitz: Just One Taste (The Kingston Family #7) by Carly Phillips

Release Date: November 29

One grumpy billionaire.

One sassy-sweet supermodel.

Add in a tropical private island paradise.

What could go wrong?

As owner and CEO of Dirty Dare Spirits, thirty-three year old, Asher Dare has it all. Money. Power. Women whenever he wants. A private island retreat when he doesn’t. People he trusts? He can count those on one hand. When one of his best friends asks a favor—hide his twenty-one year old, supermodel sister, on the island until a scandal blows over—Asher can’t say no. But he doesn’t have to like it.

The daughter of a Senator and a Presidential candidate, Nicolette Bettencourt always acts with decorum. Yet through no fault of her own, scandal seems to follow her every move. When nude photos surface, the uproar puts her father’s campaign at risk. And forces her into hiding with Asher, the hottest—and grumpiest—billionaire she’s ever met.

Under soothing tropical breezes, Asher discovers that Nicolette is nothing like the spoiled brat portrayed in the tabloids. She’s warm, sexy, and a temptation Asher must resist at all costs—or he risks betraying his closest friend, bringing a powerful political dynasty to its knees… and losing the woman he loves.

MY REVIEW

When Nikki's privacy is invaded and private photos of her are released, her older, very protective brother asks his best friend, Asher Dare of Dirty Dare Spirits, to take her to his private island in the tropics, and keep her safe (and his hands to himself) until Derek finds out who's behind everything. Asher has only one memory of Nikki, and it's not a positive one, so this is a big favor Derek's asking of him. But what happens when Asher finds that Nikki's not the spoiled model he had thought? That her sunshiney outlook on life, her strong spirit and backbone, are doing wonderful things for the chains around his heart? Will their close proximity make him open to love? Or will he continue to be against love and relationships?

Nikki knows what Asher thinks of her, what the world thinks of her. So she's surprised when Asher starts showing signs that he's seeing her as more than just his best friend's spoiled little sister. But he's also made it clear that he doesn't do relationships, so Nikki knows better than to expect their budding whatever to go beyond their island bubble. She'll just have to keep her heart out of it, lest she fall for an unavailable man.

Brother's best friend is always good for a bit of forbidden deliciousness, and that's why I like the trope so much. Here the forbidden aspect is played just right, with a bit of angst but not too much, two really likable characters, especially Nikki, and the grumpy/sunshine trope to make things even better. The Kingston Family and the Dares make a great combination, can't wait for the next in line to fall in love.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It
