BLURB
LENNY
Nick Miller is a legend in the making. The best college hockey goalie in the country and the best looking. He’s known for being a player on and off the ice, but hockey is his only love. That’s why I can’t fall for him. I need to keep my focus on my classes and not on the gorgeously handsome man that keeps popping up in my life and in my bed. I need to prove to all the men I’m just as good of a sports journalist, not get my heart broken by an athlete. But the sweeter Nick is and the more I get to know him, the harder I’m falling.

NICK
Lenny Briggs is like no woman I’ve ever been with. The more I get of her, the more I crave her. She’s real, passionate, and just as ambitious as I am. Hockey comes first, it always has and she gets that.I can’t give her anything serious, but when all she wants is to be friends I realize how dumb I’ve been all along. I need her and I’m not letting her go.

MY REVIEW

Nick's focus is hockey. He's the best at his college, and plans on being drafted into the NHL. So that means no distractions in the form of a relationship or commitment. So why does what was supposed to be one night only keep going through his mind? Lenny is so different than his usual and perhaps that's why he's stuck on her. Perhaps a friends with benefits situation will keep them both satisfied but won't derail his plans. Perhaps he won't fall first. Perhaps he won't need to convince her that they can have it all.

Lenny cannot understand why Nick is being so persistent. She knows the deal, once is supposed to be once. It's not supposed to keep happening. A friends with benefits seemed to be a good idea until she realized what always happens in that situation is happening to her. Stopping it is in her (and her heart's) best interest and she can't see Nick caring, not the guy whose sole focus is his hockey career. But perhaps she read him wrong...

It's so fun when the guy falls first. And damn did Nick fall first! It was so fun reading as he fell and tried to convince Lenny she had fallen too. I may not have liked reading of his other encounters before they started their arrangement, and I was thinking he was a douchebro, but he redeemed himself in good time. Lenny is absolutely my favorite part of their story, though, with her quirky personality, her rambling when nervous, and her drive to be a great journalist. I want more of her and Nick *hint hint* and hope there's more to come in this world.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
