Review / Release Blitz: Rebellious Rockstar (The Burnt Clovers Trilogy #1) by Gina Azzi

REBELLIOUS ROCKSTAR
Gina Azzi
Release Date: June 1

Derek “Reign” Reiner is my first everything.

He’s also my brother’s bandmate. A rock god. An international heartthrob. Four years ago, he gave me my first kiss. Then, he became a national sensation, catapulting to stardom while I moved across the country.

The last thing Derek expects is me on his band’s doorstep. Yet, here I am. Lost, uncertain about my future, and desperate to feel a connection. To my brother, to my family, to him.

I’m in Boston for one summer to find my path and see what the future holds. To discover if there’s something between Derek and me.

And there is.

Heady attraction. Reckless intensity. A rebellious need and desperate passion.

Gut-wrenching heartache.

Derek Reiner is many things to many people. But mostly, he’s mine.

Even when he breaks my heart.

MY REVIEW

Allegra's deciding between college and checking in with her brother, rockstar Levi, when she has an encounter with his best friend/bandmate, Derek. This encounter will set the tone for the rest of the relationship, a relationship that will take twists, turns, and backtracks, all with mind games on Derek's end. Will they ever get on the same page?

Oh boy but did my head (and heart) hurt during this first installment of Allegra and Derek's story. Right now after having finished this part, I'm not sold on Derek. His actions are such a mind f. He pulls her close. He pushes her away. He knows she's younger, less experienced, and has had feelings for him for a long time, but he still messes with her mind. Sigh. I wanted to smack him honestly. I was definitely pulled into their story, though, and cannot wait for the second and third parts.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
