I’m ancient for a hockey player.

Broody as they come.

I wasn’t always like that, I had love once, but it was ripped away in the blink of an eye.

Now all I want in life is to play the game I love and to be left alone.

Until I met the team’s new photographer.

I did my best to avoid her.

She was too young for me.

There was just something about her that called to me.

I’m not sure I can let go of my past, even if it means a future I never thought possible.

MY REVIEW

8 years ago Damien lost his wife and his unborn baby. Since then all he's done is play hockey, brood, and miss his two girls. Then a young ray of sunshine is hired as his team's new social media manager/photographer, and suddenly his world is looking a whole lot less grey. But, he doesn't want to lead Trinity on, offer her a relationship when he's not sure he's ready to date again. Will Trinity wait for him to be in the right headspace, or will she demand it all, now?

Being offered her dream job with the San Francisco Shockwaves is already the best thing to ever happen in Trinity's life. When she forms a strong connection with the team's broody player, Damien - even better. Damien has spent the past 8 years grieving for his wife and baby, and she can see the effects in his eyes. But spending time getting to know him, emotionally and physically has her wanting it all with him. She knows he's been in a holding pattern with his life, and she wants to break him out of it, if he'll let her.

Hot hockey player and golden retriever hero - check. Strong, sweet, mature heroine - check. No drama/no third act breakup - check. Adorable, loving couple - check!! I love this couple, this story. It's as if one look at Trinity brought Damien's head out of the grey fog he'd been living in for so long, and I was here for every second of it as they fell in lust then love. The fact that they communicated maturely, didn't assume or overreact or rush to judgement, something sorely lacking in a lot of contemporary romance, is something I really appreciated. It meant little to no drama and frustration, and made me enjoy and be entertained all the more. Add to the mix their smokin' hot chemistry and what we got was a heartfelt, sexy hockey story, one that has me impatient for more of the San Francisco Shockwaves falling in love.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
