Review / Release Blitz: The Rush (As Above #2) by Rae Stone

Release Date: September 22

What can I say? Pain and lust make good music.

As his generation’s best guitar soloist and As Above’s lead guitarist, Finland Montgomery has everything he’s ever asked for.

Women? Check.

Whiskey? Check.

Headliner status at the biggest music festival in the country? Double check.

But the one thing Fin never accounted for was a familiar face to come crashing into his life and becoming the focal point of his fascination.

Hardheaded tattooist, Cedar Jones, is no stranger to flirty advances and assholes with complexes. They’re present at every ink shop. Every concert. A problem that has easily been defeated with feisty remarks and her trusty bat.

Until a particular guitarist looks at her like there’s more behind his seemingly empty promises. Like maybe he’s different than those that came before him.

When passions collide, the rush begins and a nightmare threatens to tear them apart, can Cedar and Fin learn to trust each other among the flames of her past?

The Rush is an interconnected standalone and the second installment in the As Above series.

MY REVIEW

Once during her teen years, Cedar met her rockstar idol Fin in an embarrassing way. Now years later, her best friend is engaged to his best friend and bandmate, so they're in each other's orbits again. But though he's seriously interested in her, she literally runs from him every chance she gets. He doesn't know what she's been through in her past, why she jumps when she's touched, and why she always has a bat handy for protection, but he really, really wants to know all these things and more. His swaggering confidence and persistence, coupled with his rockstar appeal, just might charm her, if he has his way.

Fin and Cedar are rockstar romance gold. She's sassy and strong, but thinks she's broken. He's a typical rockstar all sex appeal and confidence, who falls hard, falls first for the only woman to not throw herself at him. There is a whole secondary cast that is begging for their own stories, and actually it's here where the only part of the story appeared that I was unsure of, as they obviously had a connection forged in the first book, which I didn't read, so I felt out of the loop throughout the story. Still, though, I like this story and Fin and Cedar's sizzling chemistry. My favorite part though? Her dad and how he got the last scene in the story, I'm hoping this means his own story is coming.

Meet Rae Stone
When writing was just supposed to be a pass-time, a feeble attempt that brought Rae's soul back to life, she never expected to become a published author.

One submission, one single leap of faith, lead to Rex Thompson coming to life for real and hitting the printing presses with enough enthusiastic flair to steal hearts and light up the night.

All for your reading pleasures.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
