Review / Release Blitz: Keep (Fury Brothers #2) by Anna Hackett

Release Date: October 19

My boss is a tough, grumpy bounty hunter—and a hot single dad—and now he’s sworn to keep me safe, whether I like it or not.

My name’s Macy, and I always look on the bright side of things. Life’s too short not to. Super grump extraordinaire Colton Fury is the total opposite. Luckily for him, along with the muscled bod, tattoos, and rugged face, it works for him.

When I start getting creepy calls at the office and someone breaks into my house, it becomes clear I’m a target, and Colt sort of…loses his mind. He turns even bossier and more protective.

Now I’m living with him and his super cute daughter, and trying very hard to remember that I can’t let myself fall for him. Before long, there’s kissing, touching, and a whole lot more. Colt tells me—okay, more like growls at me—that he doesn’t do relationships. And I promise him no strings or complications.

Every day that passes, the complications are growing and I’m starting to realize I want them. All of them.

But soon, it’s not only me in danger, and it’s not only Colt who’ll risk it all to save the people he loves.

The Fury Brothers: fierce, loyal, and live by their own code
Five men who grew up in foster care and became brothers by choice. They vow to always have each other’s back: no questions, no doubts, no hesitation. They protect their own…always.

MY REVIEW

Macy's living her life finding the positive, the way her mom always taught her. She has a good job as an office (manager according to her, assistant according to her boss) and might have a tiny crush on that bounty hunter boss, grumpy pants though he is. That crush will never develop beyond the unrequited stage though, because Colton only has room in his heart for his adorable daughter and his brothers. But when strange, scary things start happening to her, Colton's ever protective (and otherwise) tendencies rear up and suddenly the two are crossing that line between professional and more. But when the threat has been dealt with, will Colton keep Macy, or let her go for fear that he's really not good enough for her?

Colton's life revolves around his daughter and his brothers and their business. He doesn't really do relationships or love aside from his family, but when his sunshiney, sassy office *ahem assistant* waltzes into his life, he's finding it very hard to remember he's her boss and isn't supposed to be stepping over that line. When outside forces start targeting her, though, he can't help but take on the job of protecting her. All the close proximity is wreaking havoc on his self-imposed restraint and he's unable to resist her. But knowing he's not half as good as she deserves is keeping him from telling her how he really feels. Can he keep her or will he have to let her go when this is all over?

Whew, these Fury brothers are hot! And intense and protective and just as awesome as all of Anna's heroes in her various security series. Colton is definitely the grumpy one of this pair, and Macy's sunshiney, sweet and feisty personality is the perfect foil for his broody nature. I love how they can't resist each other and give into their chemistry because they couldn't resist any longer. The suspense blends seamlessly with the developing relationship, and Colton's adorable daughter and his brothers make an excellent, supportive found family. I can't wait for the next brother to fall head over heels now.

Meet Anna Hackett
I’m a USA Today bestselling romance author who’s passionate about fast-paced, emotion-filled romantic suspense and science-fiction romance. I love writing about people overcoming unbeatable odds and achieving seemingly impossible goals. I like to believe it’s possible for all of us to do the same.

My parents are to blame for my insatiable need to mix action, adventure, and romance. When I was young, I raided my mother’s romances and my father’s action adventure thrillers. I love being exhilarated and left just a little breathless. I’m a sucker for that moment when the team is walking in slow motion, shoulder-to-shoulder heading off into battle.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
