Review / Release Blitz: Make Me Merry (Oil Barrons #5.5) by Marie Johnston

Release Date: October 12

From Marie Johnston comes a holiday, age gap, boss's daughter romance.

Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is a quiet week on my mom’s ranch while she’s gone and to watch my nieces and nephews open presents on Christmas morning.

I’d also like to be rescued from a power outage in a snowstorm and be thrown into the warm bed of a hot man. Even better if I’ve had a major thing for that guy for most of my life. If I walk in on him doing laundry when every stitch of his clothing is in the wash, I’ll consider that the best present ever.

What I’d really like for Christmas is for him to get over our age difference and the fact that he works for my mom and finally admit he has feelings for me. But that might be asking for a Christmas miracle.

Christmas wishes,
Nora Barron

MY REVIEW

Nora's shocked by the delectable set of um Christmas buns in all their naked glory in her mom's house, but when they turn around and she sees who they belong to? Whew! Even better - Colt, the man she's crushed on forever, since she was a kid and he came to work on her mom's ranch. The man who's made an art out of avoiding and ignoring her, but can't ignore the heat she's giving him as she appreciates his naked form. But it's not until a storm knocks out the power that the real Colt is bared to her, and now she's even more enthralled with him. Will Colt be willing to give up possibly everything to be with her? Or close himself back up and retreat the way he's always done?

Colt's not anywhere near good enough for his boss's beautiful, sweet daughter Nora. Though he's been attracted to her since she grew up, he's never acknowledged it. But when she comes to her mom's ranch and gets snowed in, the heat between them ignites. Suddenly he's opening himself up to her, telling her things he's never told anyone, and giving into their sizzling chemistry. When the storm abates and his boss comes home, will the feelings they found in their bubble, be enough to keep them together?

What a sweet, emotional, steamy holiday novella this is! Colt - I just wanted to give the man a big ol' hug, a bunch of hugs actually, and tell him he was so much more than he had ever given himself credit for. Thankfully Nora came home and got snowed in with him, because she is the most perfect person for him with her big, beautiful heart and wisdom beyond her years. She helped him see his worth and helped heal a lot of the cracks in his poor soul. And vice versa because Colt is the reason she and her mom were able to heal their relationship, too. What a heartwarming and deliciously spicy way to get ready for the upcoming holidays.

Meet Marie Johnston
Marie Johnston is a RITA® Finalist, and a best-selling and award-winning writer of paranormal and contemporary romance – and an avid reader of them both.

Several years ago, when kids started outnumbering adults in the house, Marie Johnston left her job as a public health microbiologist to stay at home. Settling into working part-time and shuttling kids around gave Marie the opportunity to think about what she wanted to be when she grew up. A die-hard science geek, she explored her previously thought to be non-existent creative side after much time spent making snowman crafts and coloring princesses. Having entertained thoughts of writing a book one day then subsequently deciding it would be too hard, she finally put the figurative pen to paper and began to type – and fell in love with story telling.

The Sigma Menace is the first series by Marie with Fever Claim being her first book EVER.

She is humbled by the fact that people are willing to read to her books and looks forward to keeping readers entertained for many years.

Marie lives with her husband and four kids in North Dakota where the summers are gorgeous, the winters are brutal, and spring and fall are luxuries.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
