Yara's finally moving out on her own after divorcing her creep of an ex husband when she first meets the new guy in town, Alex. He's gorgeous but has the coldest eyes she's ever seen. But though he obviously doesn't like her, and treats her like she's nothing more than a stupid idiot, he needs her help. So why shouldn't she ask him for something in return for her help with his dog? A fake date or two to keep that creepy ex away should be all she needs then they can go their separate ways. Or at least that's the plan...

Alex isn't one to open up to people. This small town seems to share his sentiment, not exactly welcoming him and his fancy new restaurant with open arms. He's unwillingly attracted to the gorgeous doggy lover across the street but knows he absolutely cannot do anything about it. Until she makes a fake dating bargain with him when he reluctantly asks for her help with his dog, and he can't resist her sunshine. Mr. Black and his Goldie just may find a way to turn their fake dating into something real and beautiful.

I so love it when a ray of sunshine comes along and heals a grump's broken heart like Yara does with Alex's. These two are simply perfection together, from their first awful encounters down to their epilogue filled with all the warmth this black cat and his golden girl and their town brought to him.
