Review / Blog Tour: Kisses Like Rain (Corsican Crime Lord #4) by Charmaine Pauls

I gave him my innocence and my virtue.
I gave him my love and my hate.
Is there anything left to give?

Kisses Like Rain, an arranged marriage, enemies to lovers romance, and the highly anticipated fourth book in the dark mafia Corsican Crime Lord Series from USA Today Charmaine Pauls, is available now!

Angelo Russo came like a storm into my life and left destruction in his trail. The man who hates me beyond measure is the man who put a ring on my finger and gave me his name. My husband is my worst enemy.

There’s nothing left to salvage from the wreckage of our lives. He married me to destroy me, and he did an outstanding job. He took my innocence and my virtue. I gave him my love and my hate. And just when I think there’s nothing else to give, I realize how wrong I am. What Angelo wants most is the promise of life I carry inside my body. When he’s taken that last piece of me, he’ll crush me with a smile on his beautiful face and wipe my existence from his memory forever.

Note: Kisses Like Rain is the 4th and final book in the Corsican Crime Lord series and concludes Sabella and Angelo’s story. You must read Love Like Poison (Book 1), Hate Like Honey (Book 2), and Tears Like Acid (Book 3) first. The story contains scenes not recommended for sensitive readers. Reader discretion is advised.

MY REVIEW

"I know what it's like when a monster falls in love with an angel."

Sabella and Angelo are at a standstill. As before, he doesn't trust her, but knows his strong feelings for her are keeping him from doing to her what he'd normally do to someone in his crew that he didn't trust. But what if he's wrong about her? What if something forces his hand and he FINALLY comes to the realization that he should have known from the very beginning?

"We started like a hailstorm that mutilated flowers and crippled trees, and we ended like a soft drizzle that nurtures the soil and leaves crystal drops on delicate petals."

The Corsican Crime Lord series has been one of Charmaine's best (and most divisive) for me. On one hand, Sabella is one of my favorite heroines of Charmaine's with her pure, innocent heart. On the other, Angelo is definitely my least favorite with his dark, angry soul, and refusal to see what was right in front of his face the whole time. He took so long to redeem himself, and he almost left it too late. Their story goes the entire spectrum from black as night with pain, anger and hatred, all the way to the other end filled with love and joy. I can't remember the last time I wanted to smack a character more than Angelo, but I will give it to him - by the end he turns into a very loving, albeit in an alphahole way, husband. I'm going to miss this couple.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
