Review / Release Blitz: December Midnights: A Holiday Novella by Victoria Wilder

Release Date: December 1

This is my December. I’m not being naive or overly optimistic. I have it on good authority that this year, I will meet my soulmate and fall madly in love. The matchmaker who raised me said that it’ll happen by this Winter’s Solstice. Merry Christmas to me, right?

Wrong.

Because the man who just slid into my kitchen at midnight, unarmed me with his charming smile, and lit me up while licking frosting from my fingers is the newest investor in The TimeKeeper Inn. Gray Turner, the disgraced professional baseball player, wants to renovate and take over the place I call home.

There’s no way that he could possibly be “the one,” even if I do happen to feel some kind of magic every time he’s near. I’ll ignore the fact that his gruff and stoic demeanor melts away only for me. I have to remind myself that I need to keep my heart open for my soulmate because Gray isn't staying. I want that forever kind of love. But what if forever isn’t part of our plan?

What if soulmate-level love is just for the holidays?

MY REVIEW

This December is Aurora's. It's the month she'll find her soulmate and fall madly in love. Her adoptive mother Tasha declared it, and she's the magical matchmaker in their town, so Aurora knows what's coming. But is her soulmate really the grumpy former baseball player that's come to town to "help" them with The TimeKeeper Inn? Well, she'll soon find out, and will have to figure out if soulmates can last if one of them up and leaves town.

Gray's come here to get away from all the bad press since his bad breakup. The last thing he expects is to meet his soulmate in this small, quirky town. He doesn't really believe in the concept of soulmates, does he? All he knows is Aurora is making him...feel...things. But he's just here waiting for his agent to call and tell him he's gotten him a break, that he can get back on the field. He can't upend his life just because he's so fascinated by this beautiful, bright light local. There's no reason for him to give up the only thing he knows is his - baseball - just for someone he never expected.

"It's not just my December. It's ours."

This is a magical holiday story. Aurora and Gray are such an opposites attract, sweet couple. She's the ray of sunshine to his "gray" grump. The one who believes - in magic, in soulmates, in matchmaking. He believes in, well, baseball. But in true magical fashion, they come together and let the season, the mystical, have their way with them, and I loved it, loved them. Holiday love stories should always be this sweet, spicy and magical.

Meet Victoria Wilder
Forever a hopeful romantic, author Victoria Wilder writes contemporary romance with deliciously witty and wild characters. Her stories range from small-town swoon-worthy men to fiercely powerful families and lead characters who aren't afraid to ask for what they want.

She's an east coast girl, always chasing the next season and living it up with her husband, two kiddos, and dog, Linus. When she's not reading or writing, you'll find her training at a kickboxing class or finding an excuse to sink her feet in the sand at the beach.

She believes in the power of a great story. That words have the ability to change the trajectory of your life. And that a new pair of sneakers can be just as powerful as heels to put you in the right mood.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
