MY REVIEW

Ridge has been waiting for his Callie. Now that he's got her next door, he's going to woo her. He wants everything with her, but knows he may have to be gentle, take his time, because after having left her life on a compound, she's still feeling her way around. She's still exploring what life is like in the outside world. If it's the last thing he does, he will make sure they have that life, TOGETHER, forever.

Callie isn't quite sure what to make of the gorgeous guy next door. He's very sweet to her even though her newfound friends always imply he's only that way with her. And he likes texting with her even though her inexperience with well, life, has made for some really awkward, long texts. What she does know is that she feels all aflutter around him, and she feels safe with him and around him, which is the opposite of how she's always felt around men before. The more she gets to know him, the more she likes him, and the more she starts picturing a lifetime with him.

How is it possible to have insta-love and slow burn at the same time? Because that's exactly what Ridge and Callie's story is. He's been obsessed with her from afar for months before they get to know each other. But the slow burn is because he rightly knows if he lets his inner beast out too soon, she'll bolt. But he just has this feeling that there's a a lot going on underneath her innocence, and he wants to experience it with her. Damn does he! I cannot express enough how much I adore Ridge and Callie and their story. It's a sizzling slow burn with so much heart, so much deliciousness that I smiled every time Ridge called her his sweetness and it made her stomach flutter. I don't know if this is the start of a series, but I really hope so because I want a lot more of this world with grumpy hockey players turned bar owners, and the women who bring them to their knees.
