The Wilder Brothers series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with an enemies to lovers, workplace romance where Wyatt Wilder meets his match.

The moment I found out my ex-wife was cheating with my former best friend I knew I’d hit rock bottom, and it was time for a change. With the freshly signed divorce papers in hand, I want nothing to do with my old life as I start my new one with my brothers and our new distillery and bar on the Wilder Retreat.

Only when I see my former best friend’s ex, Ava, in need of a job, I can’t say no. Not when she has their eight-year-old daughter in tow and nowhere to go.

Now I’m forced to work with the woman from my past I’d rather forget. We both want to move on, but every time we’re near each other, the fire hadn’t known we could have burns between us even brighter.

We should say no. The complications would break us. Yet we can’t walk away.

Even when it would be safer for all of us if we do.

MY REVIEW

Wyatt's heart is closed for business after catching his wife cheating on him with his at-the-time best friend. But he's started over at his family's estate, has made a name for himself with the family's newest bar distillery. And now somehow he's offered his enemy a job there after having seen her get fired. He's not sure what he was thinking, offering his former best friend's ex-wife a job at his bar, but he can't back out of it now. Ava and her adorable little girl Faith need this job or they'll be homeless and broke. He may always argue with Ava, but he's not so much of a jerk that he'd let that happen.

Ava regrets a lot of things in her marriage to her douchey ex, but she also got the best thing in her life from it - her daughter Faith. But her ex had a much better lawyer than she, so she's stuck at a dead end job living paycheck to paycheck. And now that dead end job is gone, thanks to a horrible boss. She's used to life sucking, so imagine her surprise when help in the form of her sort of enemy, aka the man who happened to be her ex friend's husband, the same ex friend her ex-husband cheated on her with. Yeah. Working with Wyatt Wilder might test her strength, but she'll survive, she has to, for her daughter's sake. And she just might lose her heart to him after finding out he's so much more than she had realized.

If ever a couple deserves healing, love and happiness with each other, it's Ava and Wyatt. Life had done them both wrong, had given them scars and baggage that no one deserved. All their fighting before was just an outlet of their true feelings for each other, so it was inevitable that once in close proximity, they'd not only give into those feelings, they'd realize how they had really felt all along. I've been loving the Wilder Brothers series, and in Wyatt and Ava I think I've found my new favorite couple. I wouldn't call them a true enemies to lovers story, but the snark and the tension was definitely there, which is usually my favorite part of enemies to more, but here, it's their heart - individually, as a couple, their heart is beautiful.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
