BLURB

Fuck me for choosing the wrong sister.

Atlas Carter was a protector. He was a police officer, had spent years in the Air Force, spent his entire teen years as a volunteer firefighter.

Being a protector was in his blood.

It was his dream.

So when a woman was in a dangerous situation, it was his every instinct to protect her. To shield her. To watch over her.

Only, that woman had played him.

She’d set him up.

She’d made sure that he only saw her.

Then, when the real woman who should hold his heart, the sister, comes into his life, he doesn’t see past the hatred of her to know that she’s only trying to protect him in return.

He spends the next year terrorizing the woman who’s supposed to be his. When the dust finally settles, and he can see clearly once again, she’s no longer there waiting for him.

MY REVIEW

Pepper promised her mother on her deathbed, so now she's moved to where her sister lives, so she can fulfill that promise. Once again, though, Sage is being the psycho she is, and she's got a protector in Atlas, so Pepper's going to find her life even more difficult than usual. Too bad Atlas is so intent on protecting Sage, because he's caught her eye, even knowing she can't have him.

Atlas has a protector tendency. Unfortunately, it means he doesn't always see people or situations clearly. Such is the case with his latest friendship with Sage, the woman he rescued. But then along comes a sassy woman who gets under his skin and is forcing him to question everyone and everything. It's not possible Pepper's right about her sister, is it? And it's certainly not possible he's falling in love with the woman who drives him crazy, is it?

I love Pepper! She's sassy, feisty, and has this huge heart and she put everyone else's needs before her own. I wanted to smack Atlas a time or three at first, because he just couldn't see Sage for who she really was, even though his friends and coworkers were telling him, along with Pepper, that she wasn't who he thought. But given his backstory, I could sort of understand. I love enemies to lovers, so this one hit that snarky, witty vibe perfectly, plus all the fiery chemistry - I couldn't stop reading! Now I'm really excited to read Gable's story next, Time to Bounce.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
