It’s been months since her dreams of forever were brutally shattered. Seven long months since her husband and soulmate, Lew, died in her arms, leaving her to carry on. Alone. And Davina Klein-Roberts still isn’t sure how to move forward.

To escape her anguish, Davina throws everything into work, pushing Golden Oil Co., her self-built skincare line, to become a viral success. Now she’s poised to clinch a major endorsement deal too. But it’s bittersweet without Lew by her side.

A meeting with Deke Bishop, the hot NBA star she’s courting for her brand, leaves Davina flustered. With his dimpled smile and warm handshake, Deke’s a natural pitchman. And he’s clearly interested—not only in her lotions.

Davina soon discovers that Deke’s more than just another player and carries his own pain. But as her feelings for him grow, so does her guilt. Will the pain of a future already lost keep her from embracing hope for a new one?

MY REVIEW

Davina has thrown herself into her company since she lost her husband. Then she meets a man, a potential associate, who creeps into her heart, filling spaces she thought were long frozen. But she's not ready for a relationship yet, especially with an athlete, one who might have the chance of breaking her already broken heart.

Deke (Declan) too has his own pain, his own grief, and something in him recognizes it in Davina, even if he's not quite conscious of it at first. He didn't become a professional basketball player by giving up on the things he wants, and he's not about to give up on Davina's heart, even if he has to gently woo her, for a long, long time, long enough to help her see how beautiful they can be together.

As this story is about grief in more than one form, I could feel Shanora's grief in every word, her grief over the loss of her brother. It actually gave this sports romance a layer that not all sports romances have. And though Deke and Davina's story deals with a heavy subject, there are as many moments of light and healing, that it's not too heavy to fall in love with both the couple and their story. In short, this is a sports romance that's more than just a sports romance - it's a heartfelt, uplifting, and beautifully told love story with two perfectly imperfect characters who fall in love.

My book boyfriends go with me everywhere. I prefer them tall, dark, and handsome, but I don’t discriminate. They sweep me off my feet and are always there when I need them—in my purse, in my car, and even in my bathtub. Book boyfriends may not be real, but at least they won’t break my heart… or get another girl pregnant. I don’t do relationships. I get one whiff and run in the opposite direction. It took me seven years to mend my broken heart, and I’m not about to hand it over again. That’s why I can’t fall for Beckett. With his Clark Kent glasses and brooding stare, he’s a superhero in disguise. And his superpower? Melting panties with a single ...

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...

Susan Arden has revealed the covers for Seduced By The Senator! Releasing June 17, 2024 What's your dirty little secret? Mine involves a handsome stranger. It began in a darkened hallway. This man's touch had me coming undone. Not only is he tall, brilliant, gorgeous, and sexy as sin, he left me wanting more. He haunts my fantasies until I read about him: Senator Bennett Stone. Armed with his name, I dig for the truth. Stone is from Atlanta and is independently wealthy. A billionaire. He's rumored to be the next vice president. Tasting forbidden fruit, I can't settle for the cloying secrecy of my family. Or their plans for me as a pawn who'll live in a gilded cage where women are expected to look beautiful and keep silent. I have to act fast. Thanks to a connection, Stone is my new boss. He's my ticket to freedom -- if he doesn't fire me on the spot when I reintroduce myself... Xavia Stillman Kennedy.
