Running into Juliette, the woman who tore his heart apart all those years ago, was not something Doc ever wanted, or expected. He's built up all these feelings of anger and pain at her betrayal, roiling away in the years since, but when he finds that things aren't what either of them had been led to believe, he knows perhaps a silver lining is present in what appears to be a dark cloud around them. Healing, forgiveness, and the love that neither ever let go of, are there in reach.


Juliette knew her father was evil, but when she finds out what he had really done to her and Seeley back then, she's not sure her heart can take much more. Now she and Doc must navigate this situation that's sure to break their hearts even more, unless they can allow themselves to feel what they've always felt for each other, to remember how much they love each other.


Never has a couple deserved a second chance more than Doc and Juliette. What her father did to them took years (and more) from them both, so it took some monumental work, a few supportive, enlightening conversations, and the love the Whiskeys all have for each other, to get them right. I think I can safely say this is my favorite yet in this series. Juliette and Doc's second chance love story is emotionally heartrending and heartwarming all at once, with an amazing couple, and all the Whiskey love you could want.

It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length.
