I have a secret.
I have to ruin my brother's life.

I put my dreams and plans on hold for the good of the family business. I was the dutiful daughter who worked tirelessly behind the scenes making my mother's vision come to life.

I was promised, one day, my own part of the company would get its time to shine. That I could come out from behind my mother's overwhelming shadow.

Then an insidious secret threatened everything.

My mother had a family she left behind.

And my brother is only my half-brother.

Jude wanted to get to know his true father and the brothers he never knew he had. While in the small town in New York, he found every reason to stay.

Leaving me behind.

The problem: Our mother has been working on a billion dollar merger and if the world found out A Home You Love—a brand based on home and family—was a lie, the whole deal would crumble.

The directive: Get my brother back to Seattle by any means necessary to show the board of directors we're a happy family. Even if it's a lie.

The pain point: If I don't get Jude back into the family fold my business will never see the light of day and my entire team of employees will lose their jobs. And it will be all my fault.

The complications: Xavier Hastings, millionaire mogul, and my brother's business partner. The people of Crescent Cove.

How am I supposed to save my employees when I'm falling in love with the most maddening, complicated, overwhelming man I've ever known—as well as the baby I never knew I wanted?

Author Note: BARGAIN WITH THE BOSS is a brother's best friend, black cat/golden retriever romance with a bonus surprise baby. Xavier wasn't ready for Sydney in any way, but he's holding on tight and he's never going to let go. This is book two in our The Moguls spinoff trilogy set in our small town Crescent Cove. It has a happily-ever-after ending and a mild cliffhanger that will be answered in the final book.

MY REVIEW

Sydney's brother Jude left her behind to deal with their awful mother, and ever since she's been working her tail off to achieve her dream. Now a huge obstacle's been placed in her path - either get said brother back home to make the family company's merger happen, or her own dream will never be achieved. So now she's here in New York trying to convince Jude to come home. She never expected Jude's business partner to give her a reason to stay here and bask in their own found family's welcoming arms. But her secret agenda could not only put an end to her revitalized relationship with her brother, it could end her new relationship with Xavier too. A choice must be made - continue with her mother's directive and make her dream happen, or come clean to Xavier and lose her dream but gain the love and happiness she never thought she'd have.

Xavier's not about to let someone ruin their small town with towering skyscrapers and no-character condos, that's why he and his partners have a plan. It's that plan that he's focused solely on until his partner Jude's sister comes to visit. Now his focus is split and he's seeing something (someone) else for the first time in a long time. But as much as he's falling for Sydney, her secret agenda could be the end of them. He'll need to get out of his own way, though, and listen, if he wants to make this beautiful, new relationship work.

Sydney and Xavier are amazing together. She may have come to Crescent Cove with a kind of shady agenda, but what she wanted in her heart was just to be close to her brother again. Jude really hadn't realized that when he left, as necessary as it was for his own mental state, it was to Sydney's detriment. Thankfully she didn't just find her brother again, she met Xavier and fell in love. Xavier had pain from his own past, but it didn't stop him from pursuing Sydney even though she was his friend's sister. That kind of chase is catnip for Sydney, who had spent her whole life feeling not enough thanks to her awful mother. Xavier showed her she deserved the love she had been seeking, showed her she was as amazing as he saw her. I love this small, baby-filled town of Crescent Cove - it's full of quirky, lovable residents, and enough love to light the world really. The Moguls spinoff is getting better with each couple, now I can't wait for Gavin to fall in love with his enemy's daughter when Conspiring with the Boss releases.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
