Review / Release Blitz: A Very Scottish Scandal (A Very Scandal #3) by Anya London

A Very Scottish Scandal by Anya London is now live!

Reclusive entrepreneur Hayes Icefall needs a pretend wife to buy the only place that ever felt like home. The current owners insist on selling to a married couple, and his bitter rival just made an offer on the Scottish farm too. His only option? Convince Joy Campbell to play his spouse.

The usually high-spirited Doctor Joy Campbell isn't thrilled to hear Hayes's offer. She hates him. Of course she won't lie for him. But her stalker ex just found her in Scotland (can she pick men, or what?), and Hayes makes her a deal she can't refuse. All she has to do is fake being in love with the man who betrayed her...how hard could it be?

But with the two now trapped on a bee farm in the stormy Scottish Highlands, their sham romance is starting to feel like an unexpected honeymoon. Do they nip their newfound feelings in the bud...or learn to believe in love again?

MY REVIEW

The very last person Joy expected, or wanted, to see, right now (or ever again) is Hayes. And yet, here he is, for some reason having tracked her down and is attempting to get her to go along with his crazy plan. She's saying no until he offers to pay for medical care for some of her favorite patients, patients who desperately need the care that they can't really afford. So now she's here in this small, beautiful Scottish town, pretending to be married to the man she hates. Thank God she doesn't have to be here for too long, because there's no way she's falling for Hayes again...

Joy and Hayes are a true enemies to more couple. They hurt each other in the past, and they both still have all that pain, especially Hayes. They mask their deeper feelings for each other with a lot of snarky banter, though, but they weren't able to resist those feelings for very long. Joy does continue to doubt him, with cause, and Hayes continues to fall back on his awful behavior without admitting, or even realizing, his true feelings. Thank God for Cal, Maisie and crew, because their good advice helped him take his head out of the fog he'd been in for so long, to make their fake marriage real. The suspense was running through the story, giving it a little edginess to go along with the spicy, developing relationship, and the way it was resolved felt so natural and organic, and gave Hayes a tiny little nudge to admit to himself how he felt for Joy. I loved Joy, the strong woman with a huge, compassionate heart, just trying to make her way in the world after so much pain in her past. And I grew to love Hayes, who had his own pain, just masked, or I guess, caused his grumpy, cold exterior. There was no doubt they'd get past their antagonism, they just took a roundabout journey to finally make their fake marriage into a real one.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
